I teach at the University of Iowa College of Law. I joined the faculty in 2010 and became tenured in 2015. Before coming to Iowa I taught for two years at the University of Illinois College of Law, my alma mater.

My teaching and research interests focus on corporate governance, corporate crime, social enterprise, and higher education.

Prior to my academic appointments I was a corporate litigator at Sidley Austin LLP in Chicago. I also clerked for Judge John D. Tinder (US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, retired) in Indianapolis.

My undergraduate degree is from the University of Kansas, where I majored in English and Art History.

I served as President of the University of Iowa Faculty Senate during the 2020-21 academic year.
